BRC BUSINESS INFORMATION SERVICES - ECONOMIC BRIEFING REPORT
Published monthly, the Economic Briefing Report summarises and analyses all the key economic indicators, such as interest and exchange rates and inflation. It also provides an overview of the economic and monetary performance of the UK and how our economy is affected by the United States and Europe.
The report assesses how external economic factors influence consumers and therefore the performance of the retail industry, while examining how the industry’s performance affects the wider economy.
The EBR examines key performance indicators and economic data including:
Consumer Confidence
Business Confidence
CBI Industry Trends
Footfall data
CBI Distributive Trades Survey
Consumer Debt and Borrowing
The Office of National Statistics (ONS)
Consumer Price Index (CPI)
The ONS Retail Sales.
The report also provides key data produced by the BRC’s Business Information Department, including the RSM’s and SPI’s for the UK, London and Scotland.
