Policies & Issues: Retail Crime

CRIME PARTNERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT
The move from nationally imposed targets to a system of measuring community confidence offers retailers the best chance to date to ensure that retail crime is a priority for the police and Community Safety Partnerships.

Aim: To ensure that retail is seen as a significant partner in the local community and involved in setting local crime priorities/assessing police performance. To ensure that there is more effective engagement between police, partnerships and retailers.

Output: To provide education material to store managers and store staff on the benefits of local engagement. To work with the Government on agreed national standards/protocols for local partnership working and to ensure that business crime is included in local crime priorities.
