BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICTS (BIDS)
|
|
The BRC, Inter Bank Rating Forum (IBRF) and British BIDs are pleased to launch the Industry Criteria and Guidance Notes for BIDs.
The BRC and IBRF jointly support the principle of business improvement districts (BID) in delivering an improved trading environment for local communities. We consider that BIDs can be a useful way for businesses to work with other community partners to improve their local area and address issues of real local concern.
With a growing number of new BID proposals and proposals for renewal being brought forward across the UK, it has become even more important to ensure that the people involved in their development have a clear understanding of our priorities. Therefore, the industry criteria and guidance have been developed jointly by the BRC, IBRF and British BIDs to assist BIDs in the development of proposals and business plans which are capable of attracting wide support from the retail and banking sectors.
While each proposal or business plan will be viewed on its merits, the criteria sets out the key elements which are essential to our members. The BRC strongly recommends that BID companies take into account the criteria when developing their BID initiatives.
