IIP and Work-Life Balance Model logoBRC and the Investors in People Standard

The BRC is dedicated to looking after its people through promoting a healthy work-life balance, ensuring that there is sufficient recognition and reward, providing resource and support for training and development and encouraging participation and consultation.

The BRC achieved the Investors in People (IiP) standard in March 2003 and has recently been successful in its 3 yearly review. The IiP Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation's performance through its people. There are currently over 37,000 recognised organisations in the UK employing over 27% of the UK workforce.

At the same time as the IiP review, the BRC achieved an additional standard, the Work-Life Balance Model. The Work-Life Balance model aims to assist organisations to provide solutions, such as flexible working and benefit schemes, to help its people balance the pressures of work and home.
