Verification of age
The possession of a PASS accredited card demonstrates that your age and personal details that have been verified by your card issuer and that you are who you say you are! It is also the only scheme that is backed by the Government and the enforcement authorities such as the police and Trading Standards.
The hologram is recognised nationally and is the most important feature of the card. This makes it possible for regionally issued cards to be used outside of their local geographical area as valid proof-of-age.
Access to products and services
By producing your PASS card you can be sure to obtain the products and services that you are legally entitled to, without embarrassment, particularly if you are fortunate enough to look younger than you are!
The benefit of carrying a PASS approved card also means that you don’t need to carry valuable documents such as your driving licence or passport.
Endorsements for PASS
“The Government endorses and supports the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) and recommends that all retailers and the enforcement community do the same. PASS gives young people an easy, economical way to prove their age, when they need to, by providing retailers and enforcers with a single, recognisable logo they can trust."
Vernon Coaker MP, Home Office Minister “Routine use of proof-of-age cards is vital if we are to achieve a reduction in under age drinking. As far as ACPO is concerned, the only proof-of-age cards that are acceptable are those that have PASS accreditation.”
DAC Chris Allison, Licensing Spokesman, Association of Chief Police Officers
“PASS is a tremendously important scheme that allows Trading Standards professionals to be vigilant in enforcing the law against those who either disregard the welfare of the young, or seek to mislead those young persons or businesses by producing pirate proof-of-age cards that are of no legitimate help to anyone.”
