The Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) is the UK's national guarantee scheme for proof-of-age cards. The scheme was launched to bring in a common standard, an easily recognisable identity and a robust accreditation process to help protect retailers of age-related sales, and their employees from the myriad of fake cards used throughout the country.
The PASS hologram on a card is the hallmark indicating that the card issuer has passed a stringent and rigorous audit process carried out by Trading Standards Officers and that the card may be relied upon. If you have already applied for a PASS accredited proof-of-age card and are waiting to receive your card, you will need to contact the card scheme which you applied to directly. For listings of PASS Card schemes, please click onto Information for Young People. “The Government endorses and supports the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) and recommends that all retailers and the enforcement community do the same. PASS gives young people an easy, economical way to prove their age, when they need to, by providing retailers and enforcers with a single, recognisable logo they can trust.” |
