The Retail Audit Group (RAG) is a very successful informal self-help group that holds meetings in January, May and October each year, currently in Penkridge, just south of Stafford, and Milton Keynes. The RAG is affiliated to both the Institute of Internal Auditors - UK and Ireland (IIA) and the British Retail Consortium (BRC).
The group is run by internal auditors for internal auditors. It is well established and well supported by those involved. The group's membership comes from a wide variety of backgrounds, including most high street names.
The meetings aim to provide relevant topical information and opportunities to build relationships in internal audit circles. In setting the agendas the management team looks for presenters from outside and inside the group and aims to cover high level and more detailed subject matter. Each meeting normally includes a syndicate session and an open forum so that those present can seek information and share experience with other internal auditors.
